Mold grown in the bread

Customer Beware! Mold in their bread! Photo attached.

I bought some cake and bread from Tous Les Jours Bakery Cafe Ellicott City, stored it in my fridge overnight, and by the next day, it had mold growing on one of the cakes.

Thinking this might just be a rare issue, I went back to the store with the photo today. However, instead of an apology or any kind of understanding, the store manager said there is NOTHING he can do (with a horrible attitude). I couldn’t believe the lack of respect for customers. So awful!

Would I spend $100 in your shop, drive 40 minutes back to the store, just to lie about a $3 bread? To be clear, I wasn’t even asking for a refund — I would have let it go if I had encountered a decent attitude. Instead, I got nothing but rudeness.

This experience was infuriating. It’s a shame that a bakery with such potential operates with such poor standards for both product quality and customer service. Think twice before you buy from here.

Edited after owner's response: During the entire conversation, the store manager didn't even ask for the receipt or the date of purchase. Had he done that, I would at least pull up my credit card statement to show the purchase. Whoever read this review can be the judge.

I go here about once a month or every two months; I have been doing this for like 5 years. My friends and I love this place for the food but also because the area has other shops we like.

Consistently delicious deserts at Tous Les Jours though. Especially the fresh cream cakes. ? . I think the drinks are a bit weak though, if I had to find room for improvement.

Now get one in New York please! ?

This is a Korean bakery that has a good variety of pastries and sweets, but it isn’t the greatest thing you can get. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has plenty of seating, and the service here is friendly.

The pastries themselves can go from good to pretty disappointing. This is true for the Garlic Bread, which has loads of sweet cream cheese inside. However, the guava pastry is the best thing I’ve tasted from this bakery. The rice donut and the sausage roll are also good choices. Overall, while not the best around, it’s still a good place to get sweets.

One of the best bakery’s in the area. The chocolate croissants are excellent - love the sliced almonds on top. Everything we have had is good. I also love the strawberry croissant but they are hard to come by as they are always sold out. If you get a chance to try one, do it! Smoothies are also good

I came here after wanting to try for a while.

I got the strawberry boba and blueberry pastry for myself, and a strawberry mango smoothie and blueberry pastry for my best friend.

The blueberry pastry was AMAZING, but the strawberry boba tasted like... bubble gum toothpaste? I hated it. I couldn't even finish it and it made me feel sick.

I will definitely come back here, but I won't be getting boba again. I'll probably be trying the smoothie my friend got, it looked amazing and she said it's really good.

This is a beautiful bakery. The pastries and cakes were all absolutely stunning visually, and the way the bakery is setup is fun and inspires browsing and viewing all the details. There are so many options and everything looks so appetizing it’s difficult to decide :). I’ll definitely be back here often for sweet treats! I had the red bean donut and the almond croissant

Nice overall. Good place to do some work. Hard to find a quite cafe these days. The ube latte was very good - they just need to make hot - mine was sligtly cold. The baked goods are 8/10. Please keep cakes under better temperature. My mango cloud cake was partly frozen inside.

One of the prettiest grab and go bakeries I've been to. There is a large selection of "goodies" one can get, from cheesy croquettes to honey drizzled hotteok to donuts to mochi to whipped cream sandwiches. I got the cream sandwich with fresh fruit and it was absolutely delicious. Prices range from around $2 to around $6 per piece. I would recommend going here to get a sweet gift for someone or to gently spoil yourself.
